James Lost 22.7 kilo’s

April 9th, 2008

James Brausch who inspired me to start this blog has been very successful in losing weight. He’s lost 22.7 kilo’s in 12 months. I’ve got issues with James and his business tactics but I must congratulate him on his weightloss.

My own weightloss program got off track and like many people who go on diets or weghtloss programs I fell by the wayside. My current weight is 81kgs, about where i stated. I got down to 76 kgs at one point, but stopped my exercise program and my wieght went back to whare I started. The exercise was only a 2km walk daily. Maybe I’ll get going again now the weather has started to cool off here.  I am still eating a low carb diet, with no other restrictions on what I eat. All I’ve done is cut out bread, potatoes and any other high carb vegies. I eat plenty of meat (including the fat), eggs, cheese and greens.

Virus May Cause Obesity

September 4th, 2007

This is interesting… scientists have found evidence linking obesity to a common viral infection. The human adenovirus-36 (Ad-36) which is a cause of respiratory infections and pinkeye, may be a contributing factor to obesity in humans. It’s been found to transform adult stem cells into fat cells which are capable of storing additional fat. Their findings were reported by Magdalena Pasarica at the 234th national meeting and exposition of the American Chemical Society in Boston, Massachusetts, held August 19-23.

In a previous epidemiologic study, the researchers found that about 30 percent of fatties were infected with the Ad-36 virus, compared to 11 percent of normal people. Just how the virus causes obesity in people is still not known, but it is believed that a gene in the virus called E4Orfl may be the culprit that promotes the obesity effect.

How I’m Losing Weight

July 8th, 2007

Well, it’s working… I’m losing weight.

When I started my weight was 83kg’s and now it is 77kg’s. I’ve lost 6 kilograms in 6 weeks without really trying. I don’t exercize, and I eat just about anything I want. All I’ve done is change what I eat for breakfast from cerials to bacon and eggs. I was eating baked beens a few times a week, but I got sick of them, so I only have bacon and eggs now.

I was staying in the city on the weekend and guess what I had for breakfast… Eggs Benedict, with extra bacon!

Six kilograms is 13.2 pounds if you are an American. I have still got to lose another 6 kg’s, so it may take another 6 weeks, who knows.

A kilogram a week is not much weight to lose is it? But you know, if you did that for 52 weeks straight, you could lose 52kg’s and that is 114lb’s… if you can do that you will not be a fattie any more.

I am taking my Agel products of course, and perhaps they are contributing to my weight loss, I don’t know. The FIT product from Agel does contain a patented form of an extract of the fruit Garcinia Cambodia. This fruit is rich in hydroxy citric acid, which helps inhibit fatty acid synthesis and reduces the formation of triglycerides. The part of this equation that aids weight loss is the inhibition of fatty acid synthesis.

As a side note… I had a regular 6 monthly blood test a few weeks ago, and my Cholesterol levels have dropped. I wonder if that could be due to taking FIT… triglycerides are what forms cholesterol I think. Or maybe they ARE cholesterol, I don’t know.

An Effective Diet Plan

May 29th, 2007

I’m going to prove that my idea of how to lose weight really works. I started on a high protein low carbohydrate diet last week. My weight was 82 kgs (180.5 lbs). I weighed myself this week and I’ve lost 1.5 kgs (3.3 lbs), and my goal weight is 71 kgs (156 lbs)… so I need to lose about 11 kgs or 24.2 pounds.

For breakfast I have been eating 2 eggs and either 2 rashers of bacon or a 220 gm tin of baked beans. I don’t trim the fat off the bacon, and I add Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce to the beans. I’m not that keen on baked beans, but my Dr told me to vary my breakfast a bit.

I don’t eat any lunch, but I have 8 to 10 cups of tea and maybe 2 cups of coffee a day. I drink white tea and coffee (whole milk, not pissy diluted stuff) and I use Stevia extract as a sweetener.
For dinner I have seafood, chicken or beef and salad about 3 nights a week, and frozen dinners 2 nights a week and eat out the other 2 nights.

Tonight for instance, I had a piece of Scotch fillet and Asian salad with Paul Newman’s Caesar dressing. I love scotch fillet and I don’t trim the fat off, although there’s hardly any on it.

I don’t exercise at all. I sit at my computer from about 10:00 am until about 3:00 am almost every day. Exercise is something I must start doing again. I think if I exercised I would not even need to go on a diet to lose weight. I know that when I was training dogs I was never overweight, even drinking 6 to 8 stubbies of VB beer every night… I no longer drink. Tests showed I have had a heart attack at some time, probably about 6 or 7 years ago… more on that in a later post. I do have wine once or twice a week when we eat out.

I do use supplements in my daily diet. I take Agel supplements, mainly because they are not pills or drinks. I take one UMI and EXO, and 2 FIT daily.

The Weight Loss Dude

May 24th, 2007

The Weight Loss Dude is James Brausch… a fattie. At least he’s doing something about it though. Reading his blog he seems to have lost about 20 pounds in a few months. I wonder whether it was my comment on SEO-Easy.com that spiked his quest to lose weight.

He says it was a gall bladder operation that caused him to decide to reduce weight. He blamed his weight as the cause of his gall bladder operation, but I think that high cholesterol is the cause of gall stones, not necessarily body fat.

James made a post criticizing Dr Mercola for not delivering meat that he bought… James is a hypocrite. I bought Glyphius 2007 from him in February and he never sent it to me. He also refuses to even acknowledge that he’s stolen my money.

The funny thing is that James claims to be a man of God… yeah right, and I can walk on water!

I know you’ll read this James, so be a man, and post a comment so we can sort this out. I want my copy of Glyphius 2007 that I paid you for, that’s all.

Weight Control In Greyhounds

May 24th, 2007

I operated my own Greyhound farm for 11 years until 6 years ago when I retired to pursue my Internet business. I bred and reared about 150 greyhounds a year for 11 years and had 100 dogs on the farm at all times. There were only 3 things that affected their weight… food intake, exercise and the weather. Of course, one other thing that can affect a dog’s weight is illness.

I have proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that weight control in animals is easy. If I wanted to take weight off a dog in a hurry for a race, all I needed to do was change the dogs’ diet and exercise. I reduced the carbohydrate and increased the protein and exercise. Doing this I could take a Kilo (2.2 pounds) off a dog in 36 to 48 hours. A kilo is about 3% of a dogs body mass. AND the dog invariably ran VERY well, often winning the race.

If a racing dog weighs 33 kgs its’ main meal would be 8 slices of whole meal bread and 8oo gms of lean beef with some vegetables and a vitamin/mineral additive, and its’ exercise would be 1½ to 2 kilometers of brisk walking. The way I would reduce this dogs’ weight is to reduce the bread and increase the protein in the main meal and exercise. The new diet is 2 slices of whole meal bread and 1.5 kgs of lean beef plus the vegetables and additives, and the dogs walking program is upped to 4 kilometers a day for 2 days.

The dog also gets a morning snack of a 4″ x 2″ dog biscuit and a drink containing electrolytes and vitamins E and C. This remains unchanged.

I have tried a high protein diet on myself, and it definitely works… however high protein diets can be dangerous if they are not used correctly. I’ll go into how to use a high protein diet safely at a later date.

Weight Control in Poultry

May 24th, 2007

My father operated a Poultry farm for some years when I was young, and it was imperative to keep the hens weight in check to guarantee a consistent production of one egg per hen per day. If they got too fat, egg production dropped off. If they got too cold or too hot, egg production dropped off.

The single most important way to keep the hens happy and laying well was to keep them at an optimal weight. There’s only one way to keep a laying hens’ weight in check, and that is through her diet. To increase her weight dad would either increase the total amount of food fed, or increase the percentage of carbohydrate in the food fed to her.

Weight Control In Animals

May 24th, 2007

Being from a farming background (cattle, chooks and greyhounds) I can tell you unequivocally that ALL animals put on weight because of only one main thing… increased food consumption. Exercise plays a part, as does the weather (or more specifically, the temperature).

I was bought up on farms as a kid, and the cattle always lost weight in periods when food was scarce and/or the weather was cold. When the grass grew lush and abundant, the cattle got fat. They didn’t just put on weight through muscle growth, THEY GOT FAT. Fat is yellow stuff, and if you kill a cow or bullock in late spring that has had a free run on lush pasture you’ll see what I am talking about.

There will be a massive amount of FAT in the flesh and under the skin. The amount of “marbling” in the flesh is largely genetic, but the fat under the skin and around the kidneys is totally due to excessive eating of good quality food, or lack of exercise.
